These assessments include subtests in reading, language arts, math, social studies, and science for Grades K–12 through the DataManager™ platform. New and returning users will follow a preset timeline to work towards a successful testing experience. This timeline may take five to six weeks.

How It Works

  • New Users
    • Five to six weeks before testing, check technical requirements.
    • Four weeks before testing
    • Three weeks before testing
      • Confirm DataManager access by having staff log in.
      • Complete DataManager training, which takes approximately two hours.
      • Order individual student tests, and sign the Online Testing School User Agreement for tests.
      • Submit student roster.
    • One week before testing
      • Create test session codes.
      • Download Excel file with student names and IDs.
    • After testing
      • Confirm end of testing with BJU Press Testing & Evaluation.
      • Create reports.

    PLEASE NOTE: All times listed are minimal. Skipping steps in the ordering process or issues in processing your payment will delay your testing.

  • Returning Users
    • Four or more weeks before testing, review technical requirements.
    • Three weeks before testing
      • Have staff log in to confirm access.
      • Submit names of new staff who will be using DataManager.
      • If staff members have left your school, submit their names to be archived.
      • Order individual student tests and sign the Online Testing School User Agreement for tests.
      • Submit student roster.
    • One week before testing
      • Create test session codes.
      • Download Excel file with student names and IDs.
    • After testing
      • Confirm end of testing with BJU Press Testing & Evaluation.

  • DataManager™ Access and Training: $600
    • The fee includes training costs and no hidden fees, as well as the added security of personalized service through Testing & Evaluation.
    • Description: Each test administrator will have a unique login for anytime access to DataManager student reports and digital resources.
    • Training will take about two hours.  You will learn how DataManager works, how to create and proctor test sessions, and how to generate custom reports.

  • General
    • What is DataManager™?

      • DataManager is the platform through which the Iowa Assessments™ Form E achievement tests are offered.
    • When do I need to order?

      • First-time users need to order four to six weeks prior to testing.
      • If you already have access to DataManager and are testing more than ten students, order at least three weeks before testing.
      • If you already have access to DataManager and are testing ten or fewer students, order at least two weeks before testing.
    • Do my teachers have to be approved test administrators?

      • For schools purchasing tests from BJU Press, teachers and testers do not need to submit online applications; but the school administrator will be required to sign the Online Testing School User Agreement stating that all teachers who will administer the tests are qualified according to these guidelines.     • What do I do if I forget my DataManager login?

    • How do I create a test session?

      • After logging in to DataManager   and navigating to the Assessments application, click the blue icon to the right of your test event to Proctor an Online Testing Session. This window allows you to select the grade and test that you need. Reference your training resources for more information.
    • What do students need for testing?

    • How quickly can I create results?

      • Results data will be available within two business days.
    • How do I create results?

      • After testing, log in to DataManager   and navigate to the Results application. You may select the types of reports and score options that you desire.
  • Policy
    • What does it mean when tests are “embargoed”?

      • Sometimes a test publisher makes an agreement with a state department of education or a local school district granting them exclusive use of a particular form of the test for a limited period of time. In cases where Form E is embargoed, BJU Press Testing & Evaluation is prohibited from administering that particular form of the test to the area covered by the agreement. In most cases, we can provide a paper-and-pencil edition of an alternative test.
    • May I exclude students or administer with accommodations?

      • Yes. Details will be covered during DataManager training.
    • What happens if a student misses the test date?

      • A student may make up the test at a later date. Contact BJU Press Testing & Evaluation immediately to schedule the makeup date.
    • What if a student is unable to test?

      • Unused tests will receive a 60% refund.
    • Can a student be added to the test roster at the last minute?

      • A student may be added to a test roster until two business days before your test date.
