Rated 5 out of 5 by from Detailed results of specific skill sets I like getting such a specific print-out of my children's academic strengths and weaknesses. Since learning is non-linear, it helps show not only where each student has grasped concepts which I directly taught, but also other skills and topics that they attained through their growth and development of thinking beyond specific subjects. Good method to introduce taking bubble-tests to homeschooled children. One child didn't like math and I had changed curriculum 3 times in 3 years. The Stanford test revealed that it wasn't for lack of understanding (it was very high), but willingness. So I was able to rethink my teaching of math knowing that he fully understood the concepts. OLSAT also opens my eyes to the reasoning skills (which I recognize when I read the results, but hadn't analyzed prior) however, when I see how each child thinks most deeply, it helps me add those dimensions to his/her learning. My children enjoyed looking at the results as well. Finding where they were "above grade level" made their day. None of them have been surprised at the topics listed "below grade level". We do not stress getting a "100" because that number means little outside class.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a good assessment Overall, this first grade assessment was adequate. I did have one issue with an illustration though in which the president's house was tinted pink. This confused the student and he said, "This can't be the right answer because he lives in a white house." Of course, I could not correct him, therefore he missed that answer. This was the one instance that stood out to me, so I don't know if there were other confusing questions which he missed because of printing issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Administer and Accurate Results I run a homeschool support Academy and have used the test for years. This is the first time I used BJU to supply, grade and report. They were easy to administer and the results were delivered quickly with great accuracy. I highly endorse the test and BJU as a supplier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall, a great product for academic testing. I would highly recommend the OLSAT and/or Stanford testing for your student(s). It was easy to administer, great value, and great quality. I can easily see that it assesses all cognitive levels within a specific grade (ie: students that are advanced through students that are not as advanced). We've used Stanford for a few years and will continue to do so for some time to come. Results came via email in about 2 or so weeks with a very helpful interpretation guideline. Thank you BJU!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleased The two most positive things about this test is that it is not timed and is in color! I also liked that the spelling test was done with the words embedded in a sentence so you could use context clues to help. I'm curious if the fact that my student was able to take his time rather than rush will change his overall testing scores. I think I would order it again in the future.
