The Iowa Tests®
The Iowa Tests Form C makes understanding and applying your student's test scores easy. It includes a Primary Reading Profile (PRP) score report for Kindergarten through Grade 3 and a Lexile® Measurement for Grades 1–12. An optional CCSS comparison (Grades 3–12) is available upon request and can be viewed in our sample score reports.
The Iowa Tests are nationally standardized tests and meet most state requirements. This assessment is available year-round, and either the complete battery or only certain parts of the test may be administered.
The Iowa Tests of Basic Skills® (ITBS®) and Iowa Tests of Educational Development® (ITED®) are also available in combination with the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test™).

To administer any of these tests, you must be listed with us as a pre-approved tester for The Iowa Tests, which requires a completion of an online test administrator application. You can search for an approved tester in your area using the Tester Locator.
- K5–2 (Levels 5–8) must be administered separately by grade.
- Grades 3–8 (Levels 9–14) may be administered together.
- Grades 9–12 (Levels 15–18) may be administered together.
Note that Level 9 includes two extra subtests—Word Analysis and Listening.

You may test at any time of year, but some states have deadlines for testing or score reporting.
