BJU Press Distance Learning

BJU Press Distance Learning is like “having a faculty at your fingertips”! If you’d like help teaching harder subjects, managing your time better, and adding some excitement to your home school, then consider one of the distance learning options.

AHE Family Camp and Graduation

All AHE families and their guests are invited to arrive on the Bob Jones University campus beginning Monday of graduation week (June 9-12, 2009). The first part of the week offers a family camp atmosphere with workshops for parents and teens and hands-on activities for elementary –age children in the BJU Press Distance Learning studios, campus tours, recreational opportunities for the whole family, and much more! On Wednesday evening, things move into high gear—from a grad picnic and teen activity to the graduation rehearsal and ceremony on Thursday afternoon and then a graduation banquet and roller skating Thursday evening!. Class Directory

The AHE office publishes a class directory of students enrolled in grades nine through twelve of the program. Students who wish to be included in this directory may send the AHE office information about themselves which they would like to share with their classmates, including name, e-mail address, age, hobbies, pets, and so forth. This information is then published in the class directory for that year. The students may choose to correspond with one or more of their classmates, becoming acquainted through their correspondence and arranging opportunities to meet one another either locally or when they come to campus for activities such as Fine Arts Festival, summer camps, AHE Open House Days, the junior class trip, and graduation.

Fine Arts Activities

Each fall Bob Jones University sponsors the High School Festival. Many home schoolers take advantage of this annual event held on the University campus. Talented high school students from across the country compete in speech, music, art, and drama with hundreds of students from conventional schools who attend this event. Students enrolled in The Academy of Home Education enjoy special savings while participating in this competition.

Junior Class Trip

Each fall we invite our AHE juniors to join us for a long weekend of special activities. This is an opportunity to become acquainted with your AHE “classmates,” those with whom you will graduate. You will stay in the residence halls at Bob Jones University, meet AHE graduates, visit a few University classes, and participate in a wide variety of other fun activities, including a mystery day of travel. This is a students-only trip. View  photos from the 2007 Junior Class Trip.
