High School Calendar

The academic year for students enrolled in The Academy of Home Education generally runs from mid-August through early June with various holiday breaks scheduled, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every effort is made to coincide as much as possible with the BJ HomeSat and BJ LINC broadcast schedules for the benefit of our families who use these services. However, the AHE school year requires a 180-day enrollment period which is necessary in order to validate the units of academic credit, particularly at the high school level. In the event that BJ HomeSat and/or BJ LINC programming does not complete the full 180 days, additional days may be scheduled for review, field trips and other enrichment activities. The school calendar included in the high school student portfolio provides a structure for grade reporting with a view toward the timely and successful completion of all course work prior to graduation.
