High School Admission Requirements
Admission to the program is open to any home-educated student who agrees to carry out a program of home schooling utilizing
BJU Press curriculum in all academic areas in which these materials are available. Parents must obtain their own curricular
materials. If a BJU Press catalog is needed, one can be obtained here, or by calling 1.800.845.5731.
To be admitted to the high-school level of the program a student must also meet the admission requirements and be prepared to
initiate academic work at the ninth-grade level, be at least twelve years old and have completed an elementary program of study
through the eighth grade.
High school applicants (including those coming from grade eight within the program) must obtain a standard age score of at least
90 on a mental abilities test* and obtain overall standardized achievement test* scores that indicate readiness for ninth-grade work.
If any stanine score in any academic area is below 5.0 on the achievement test, the student may be admitted on a conditional
basis pending improvement in that area. This decision will be made upon the recommendation of our home school consultants.
*Tests for high school admission must be administered by an approved non-relative proctor.
