Algebra 1

Algebra 1 presents algebra topics in a logical order. The text develops an understanding of algebra by justifying methods and by explaining how to do the problems. It introduces graphing, solving systems of equations, operations with polynomials and radicals, factoring polynomials, solving rational equations and graphing quadratic functions. Biographical sketches of mathematicians are included, as well as features on probability and statistics, Algebra Around Us, and Algebra and Scripture.

Algebra 1 Software

BJU Press has released companion software to its Algebra 1 for Christian Schools, 2nd Edition textbook. Need more examples? more practice? This program works out any problem for you, explaining each step in detail. Where appropriate, it also uses animation to show how formulas change from step to step.

If you'd like an explanation of more examples, just change the numbers and coefficients, and see the new problem worked out. If you'd like more practice, choose "Drill Mode," and the program will generate as many problems of that type as you'd like. When you think you have the solution, ask the program to show you whether you're correct and to explain when you're not.
