- Landforms: Face of the Earth—A quick illustrated review of the most common landforms.
The Earth's Waters
- Water Discovery Box— A basic but thorough presentation of the many geographic functions and problems of water on the planet.
The Earth's Surface-Changing Forces
- USGS: Earthquake Hazards Program—records of earthquakes in the U.S. and the world. Has a section for kids too.
The Earth's Climate
- A Solar/Terrestrial Tutorial—Short lessons on solar effects on earth. Has animated diagrams illustrating the interaction of earth and sun. Don’t overlook the extra links at the bottom of each page if you’re still struggling with the concepts.
- Oceans Alive!—Great site with much information on the ocean—its movement, topography, and biological environment. Loads of information!
- Meteorology Guide—Much information on weather patterns and formations.
- National Geographic: "Wild World" map—a world map of different terrestrial ecoregions. Click on any region and a new box pops up with a description of the region (climate, flora/fauna, geographical features, and problems).
