Prayer Letters

A local church produced the following publication to encourage prayer for missionaries. Men distribute the printed copies to the church. Missionaries and others living outside the area receive a copy by email.

"I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: but verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me" (Psalm 66:17-20).

BOB AND BECKY HEIN - BMM - AUSTRALIA

PRAY: (1) For Andy as he stays in Australia during furlough to do an apprenticeship as a builder (2) For the salvation of Rob who was brought up in the Catholic Church (3) For Rene, who came to the evangelistic meetings, to be saved soon (4) For the unsaved men who will join us as we share the Gospel during an outreach fishing trip.

WALT BROCK - IRONWOOD CAMP - CALIFORNIA

PRAISE: For the 27 camps or retreats here at Ironwood already this year.

PRAY: (1) For a special unspoken request that involves the need for God's special intervention and ability to change hearts (2) For safety and health for all staff and campers (we dare not be presumptuous in this area) (3) For full camps this summer and many decisions for the Lord.

CHRIS WHALEY MINISTRIES - GREENVILLE, SC

PRAISE: That God has allowed me to resume activities after a long illness.

PRAY: (1) For talent and wisdom to do a video designed to help comfort families in their deepest grief (2) For Denise (Gimi) Grinnel, a young mother who desperately needs a heart transplant, that a heart will be available soon (3) For Elaine Orthner, Pastor John Vaughn's secretary, as she has only a couple weeks to live unless God intervenes (4) For the parents of my son-in-law, Russell and Shirley Phillips, as she is in need of constant care and he is recovering from brain surgery.

MICHAEL AND MADELAINE DODGENS - SPAIN

PRAISE: (1) For the salvation of John Paul Dika who came from Cameroon, Africa (2) For a number of new Christians whom we have been able to disciple (3) For the baptism of four believers: Fernando and his wife, Alexandra, Angel, and our son, Michael. PRAY: (1) For spiritual growth for new believers: Fernando, Alexandra, Angel, John Paul and Angel Sanchidrian (2) For the salvation of Robert and Muriel Odabashian, Alfredo and Nuria (3) For faithful Spaniards to take over the ministries which our family has begun (4) For Victor and Susana who will be taking leadership of the youth group.

TOM AND JOANNE FRANZEN - GFA - ALBANIA

PRAISE: (1) In February, JoAnne had the pleasure of leading a gypsy lady to the Lord (2) a 13 year-old boy who has done correspondence school lessons for about a year came to Christ in one of the meetings recently.

PRAY: (1) For political stability in the country and upcoming elections in June (2) For our search of a place to live since the apartment where we live may be sold at any time (3) Our continuing language skills in communicating the Gospel.

JANE HANKINS - ABWE - TOGO, WEST AFRICA

PRAISE: (1) That we are seeing some of the fruits of our labor as two of our older students are now serving the Lord in a local chapel. Kwami is helping out in the children's church and Kommla is now the choir director (2) That our kindergarten class room is almost finished and the carpenters will soon be making the tables and desks for the classroom.

DON AND LOIS HARRIS - EBM - ARGENTINA

PRAISE: For the provision to buy a 9 passenger, 1996 KIA Besta van.

PRAY: (1) As we try to "turn loose" of the church in Mar del Plata - we need real wisdom in helping those involved to attain spiritual maturity (2) Due to sharp increases in health insurance we have a monthly deficit of $325.

ATIF HIMADEH - JERUSALEM

PRAISE: For the many students who have started to study the Bible with us by correspondence.

PRAY: (1) That the Lord would open the eyes of the many Muslim students (2) For the wedding of our youngest daughter, Mary, as she is united in marriage to Manuel Mendoza from Phoenix, Arizona, on May 7th (3) For supply of financial support for Manuel and Mary who are coming to Jerusalem to help us in the ministry for the months of June and July (4) For the many families who have heard the Gospel but have not yet been saved.
