ITBS & CogAT Grade 6 (Form C, Level 12/D, test combo)

ITBS & CogAT Grade 6 (Form C, Level 12/D, test combo) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Test! I have used this for several years now as a homeschool mom to gauge where my son's strengths and weaknesses are. It helps shape some of my teaching where he's weaker and also puts me at ease in his areas of strength. I absolutely love using the combo--my son actually looks forward to the cognitive thinking tests, and being able to use these tests in our home classroom reduces most testing anxiety while still giving him standardized testing practice. Highly recommend!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ITBS & CogAT Grade 6 (Form C, Level 12/d, test combo) Last month I administered the ITBS test to 2 6th grade students. They both agreed that the passages were very similar if not identical to the reading passages on their 5th grade test. It was disappointing that the tests were not unique from year to year! I'm wondering how different they really are and if this similarity introduces a level of unreliability in the results. Since there is no way of really knowing whether this similarity exists with the next grade level too, I am considering other tests in future evaluations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a great test. Found this combined test to be very long. I recommend only one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Objective Measures I highly recommend using IOWA tests to gain an objective assessment of a student's homeschooling progress. Although as both parent and teacher I have a pretty good idea of my kids' strenghts and weaknesses, I appreciate the affirmation I get from test results. The aptitude tests provide a predicted score based on ability. The achievement tests provide a measure of what a student has learned. By comparing the two, you can identify subjects which may need more attention.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beneficial Positives: Easy to use. Clear directions. Thorough coverage of life- necessary knowledge base. Fun change from "regular school". Reasonably priced. Overall a very useful tool. Negatives: It took longer to administer the test than I remembered--several days of 3-4 hour work sessions. I also had trouble trying to decide how best to use the test with my learning disabled daughter. If anyone has a learning disabled child I recommend calling the help line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT experience! The standardized testing materials arrived from BJU Press within a week of my purchase from their website and all instructions/booklets were very clear on how to administer the tests and return materials. Test results were available very about one week. The whole process was trouble-free and very efficient!
