Rated 4 out of 5 by from My students are doing well in grammar/comp. Plenty of review. Good explanations. Students scored well on standardized tests in lang arts; some credit must go to the text. Could have more practice on the disc that comes with the teacher's edition. Tests should be easier to transfer to Word documents for personalized edits. Best as a consumable text for students, so not sure about the "value" category; I'm old-school and want to reuse books for many years--if it's a good book!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from didn't work for us I use BJU DVD curriculum and was very disappointed with this class. The textbook is hard to follow and the video was even more confusing. My son couldn't understand the concepts being taught and after about a month it wasn't any better, so we changed to something else. If your child is advanced they might do well with this. The content is very complex and so much different than the grade 6 we did prior which we loved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding teaching tool and resource The 7th grade writing and grammar book is an excellent practical learning tool for students. At the end of the school year I tell the 7th and 8th graders to hold on to the book to use in high school as a resource when writing essays, reports, etc. The set up and examples for the students are excellent practice and preparation for standardize testing. Thank you BJUPress!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 7th grade Writing&Grammer I have used BJU for the past 2yrs, Coming into 7th grade was a bit scary, I had not planned to homeschool this year but a move to a new area provided no other alternative. Getting the curriculum books was a bit of a jolt also due to the new formatting. It took a little time and required me to step up my knowledge of the subject but everything has been flowing nicely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent and Thorough The last of my four homeschooled children is going through this book. I have used the entire BJUP English/Writing/Grammar series for all of them and found it to be excellent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from In our culture of grammatical chaos, I find this textbook helpful in teaching the fundamentals of grammar. I have been using 7th grade BJU Grammar for 8 years in my 7th grade English class. I find the grammar concepts and summary, practice the skill, and review the skill are an adequate assessment of the skill being taught. Sometimes the directions are more confusing that the actual skill being taught. This is especially true for the test reviews and the test worksheets purchased separately. In our culture of grammatical chaos, I find this textbook helpful in teaching the fundamentals of grammar.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from different format than their 6th grade English I am math strong and language weak and love the way they teach writing assignments, with one chapter in grammar and the next in writing. Though not as intense as the ABeka language curriculum I enjoyed using the BJU 6TH GRADE ENGLISH more. The reasons were that each lesson was in order and labeled so I can tell what lesson it was. I also liked how the lessons were clearly described for the student to read. A self motivated student can learn without much help from mom. I have looked through the 7TH GRADE books and the lessons are not labeled on the pages and aren't located in order because the lessons glean from other chapters at times. However, there is a suggested teaching schedule in the back of the teacher's edition.
