The K5 Bible Truths Student Packet contains a variety of activity pages designed to reinforce the Bible lessons and review memory verses. Cutouts for cutting and gluing activities are located at the back of the book. Other activities include completing dot-to-dot pictures and making picture books. Four student booklets are included for teaching about Samuel, Creation, Thanksgiving, and the person of God. Memory verse reminders are also included.
Bible Truths for Christian Growth (BTCG) are questions and answers regarding scriptural truths. They teach children what the Bible teaches, directing them to know and love God, and to make right decisions that honor God. The set of BTCG questions included in the K5 Student Worktext has been revised to an age-appropriate number.
Please see the K5 listing of the revised BTCG questions and answers for the current age-appropriate wording.

Not appropriate for ageI am using this worktext in combination with the K5 DVD program. To be honest, I am completely appalled with the content that was selected and discussed for this age group. We are talking about 5 year old children here. They do not need every detail. For example, I don't find it appropriate to tell a 5 year old that Abraham started his ascent up the mountain to kill his son. I think certain information needs to be held back until such a time as a child is able to comprehend it, as well as deal with it emotionally. Having a color photograph of Isaac tied up and placed on an alter about to be slayed and burned is traumatic for 5 year old children. I have had to throw away 3 different pages from this book in the 6 weeks that we have been using it. I am less than satisfied that I paid a lot of money and have to constantly preview all lessons to make sure my children aren't going to be traumatized by it. I feel as if no thought was given whatsoever to whether the topic was appropriate for the age group.

Bible Truths K5We have very much enjoyed using this in addition to regular Bible time in school. If I were to change something, it would be the parts where the student has to cut out and glue pictures in story order. The way the pages are set up, the smaller pictures are already in order, so the student doesn't really have to recall what happened in the lesson. But we have overall appreciated how well done this is.
