I was looking for a supplement workbook option that could be used for practice with decent *proper* explanations. This was perfect! We've had off-brand workbooks gifted to us before and they have horrible instructions or use explanations that aren't the correct English terminology. While we are more life-learning and don't feel like we need to know all the parts of a sentence for great education, when discussing - I find its important to use the correct terms. The layout builds, which is also what I was looking for - it doesn't jump all over the place like many workbook options do. It is easy to pick up and use or take a break for a while when we're working on other projects or life gets in the way. It is colorfully illustrated which my daughter enjoys.
While we are Christian, I also enjoy that every word in the book isn't out of the Bible. It takes a real-life approach while using teachable moments to integrate Biblical education. I think that is a realistic approach to learning to live in God's eyes. Children do hundreds of things each day that are from God, but aren't reading scripture - and I think that's important.
There have been a few times where we've had to use other supplements to work on a few areas that we were struggling with and needed more workbook practice or a different approach, but this was *exactly* what I was looking for in a workbook and I looked through at least 10 different samples from other companies before choosing this one.

We wanted something more challenging for my 3rd grader this year when it came to grammar and the foundation of English. This is the perfect fit for us! It's easily adaptable for homeschoolers and has lots of extra activities to use. The work text that goes alongside this for the student is great and the additional worksheets for practice are great for when the student needs more practice on a certain concept. My daughter loves the material and perhaps more importantly, I love it! It requires very little planning ahead of time and is very straightforward. I love that it's challenging for her, yet laid out in a way that's easy to teach and requires little planning!

We used the same worktext for 2nd grade and loved it! It was easy to use. It split up the grammar and writing to help lighten the work load. I really like how it guides the student through the writing process using other students' examples. We were very happy with the product. It looks like the grade 3 text is set up the same way and we look forward to starting our academic year.

We really appreciate this textbook. The way that it alternates between grammar and writing assignments helps to keep the students interest.
