Rated 5 out of 5 by from Here’s the really cool part! My daughter loves these stories! She has never been more motivated to read high quality, Christ centered stories every single day. Most days my daughter prefers to read two or three lessons and (I stress “and”) do the workbook pages which are so wonderfully created. As a mother of three children my position has always been to teach each of my children as uniquely as they present themselves. This reading subject kits has allowed for much differentiation in teaching differences and styles for my children. My son has enjoyed the vocabulary and it’s presentation. My preferences are that I don’t need to think about questions on multiple levels as they are threaded within the teacher manual. So many times I’ve heard my children yell out “this is the really cool part!”

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 6th Grade reading I like this 6th grade reading edition better than the previous BJU edition. I thought some of the things in the previous one were unnnecessary for 6th graders, and those activities were taken out. I would, however, prefer the kids to have 3 choices to choose from for multiple choice and most seem to give only 2. I like the vocabulary pages in the back for extra vocab practice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good intro to literature I really like how this curriculum starts to introduce students to terminology they will see in future literature classes. The stories are pretty good, and the curriculum is easy to use (other than the specialty pages being in the back - out of the order you would teach them). I would absolutely recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Literature Study I love using BJU's reading curriculum. This answer key is very easy to use since its pages coordinate with the student work-text pages. This makes it fast to correct my son's pages and easy for me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Literature Study I love how BJU integrates biblical values at the same time they push for academic excellence. My son finds the stories intriguing and wants to continue reading if the story is split among multiple days. The only downside is that the "skill station" lessons are separated in the back. This makes it confusing to get the correct pages out, because those particular lessons are in a separate section in the back of the work-text and don't follow in order with the other lessons. While this is confusing and slightly annoying, it hasn't stopped me from continuing to buy BJU's reading curriculum. I believe that the excellence in value, quality, biblical integration, and academic excellence outweigh this drawback. I still highly recommend this entire curriculum!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good The worktext is very good. It not only covers the stories being read, but also develops skills that benefit readers. The skill lessons are very well done and the author scrapbooks are interesting. It is a good way to learn from the stories.
