Enhance your elementary child’s education and prepare him or her for future careers and ministries by teaching Spanish. BJU Press’s elementary Spanish educational materials, Pasaporte al Español, contains 6 progressive teaching steps. Each step contains approximately 64 lessons.
Pasaporte al Español Kit A is designed to introduce children to the Spanish language, and contains Steps 1–3. The kit contains everything you need to successfully teach Spanish to elementary students. The kit contents are described below.
Pasaporte al español Teacher’s Edition provides easy instructions for teaching three levels of Spanish. Sixty-four lessons per step combine listening, speaking, reading, and writing and offer ideas for demonstrating actions and modeling language functions with a Spanish family, the Garcías. Colored text gives English translations.
Teaching Charts guide discussions about countries, songs, Bible verses, and vocabulary.
Audio CDs record native speakers modeling vocabulary and conversations. Spanish songs keep students practicing grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation long after they’ve completed the program.
Read-aloud Books present words and structures with beautiful illustrations that provide a rich context and inspiration for discussion. Sample questions in each book check comprehension.
Worktext Steps 1 through 3 are also included and encourage the students to demonstrate their progress through a variety of age-appropriate activities.
Choco, a hedgehog hand puppet, invites increased student participation as he learns with the students.
8 DVDs from our award-winning Distance Learning program contain all the lessons for Step 1. These 15-minute lessons cover vocabulary, listening-comprehension skills, culture, worktext activities, and songs.

This is a fun and easy way to learn Spanish.I needed an easy to use program to teach Spanish to my 6 year old son and he is really loving this program. At first I thought it was expensive, but you get a lot in return. The materials are high quality and the video lessons are paced well so that he doesn't get overwhelmed. My older son even likes watching the videos with us.

We love it!I tried other Spanish programs before this, hoping to spend a little less, but none of the others went very well. I've been using this program with my 9 and 11 year olds and we love it! The videos are geared for younger kids, but the content is perfect for my beginning Spanish learners and they don't seem to mind. I'm learning it right along side them. The workbooks are definitely geared toward young elementary school and we haven't used them too much, but the flash cards at the bottom of the workbook pages have been extremely helpful. I cut them out and laminated them and put then on a ring for all of us to review daily. We generally do 2 new lessons a week and review what we learned the other days. I like the combination of explaining how Spanish works along with just teaching how things are said. For example, I don't think we've reached a point (we're at about lesson 30) where the teacher has explained how to make the plural in Spanish, yet it's been used and modeled and we've picked it up fine. Too many explanations of rules is so tedious and language is frequently better caught than taught. I'm sure there will be some conjugating verbs down the road, but I'm glad we've avoided that so far. My kids really enjoy the program and so do I. I highly recommend it.

Easy to use and effectiveMy daughter is 7 and has had a little Spanish in school. This is more involved than what she was doing in school and she loves the program. We now homeschool and she loves the DVDs and songs. It is easy to use and the teacher's edition is user friendly. The units progress at a good pace so they don't get bored. I will definitely continue using and would recommend to anyone looking for a beginner Spanish program for kids.
