Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I expected I feel this curriculum is very basic. Borderline grade level. The questions are not challenging and I found 2 errors within 2 pages of each other. There is a heavy biblical focus, which is slightly more than what I expected. The pictures in the book are from the 70's or 80's and very dated. Not appealing to the reader.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Have When I taught in the public schools (not so long ago), we used basal reading series. And nowadays a complete reading series (without having hundreds of individual books) is difficult to find to homeschool my own kids. I was thrilled to find this collection of stories in one book (yes...a basal!). The stories are meaningful, eclectic and with great content. My kids love their BJU reading series and always beg to read what is next. I have used three different grade levels and am always pleased. Accompanying workbooks are the perfect partner for the stories. Love the Christian-based outlook from the stories that lead to meaningful conversations outside of the academics. The series is up there in price, but I do believe worth the cost. I feel my kids are very well-rounded with their reading skills as a result of working through these series!
