My 6-year-old grandson lives far from me, and I read to him by phone. I recently read this book to him. He has no particular interest in horses, but he would not let me stop reading until we had finished this book. When we were done, he wanted me to pack up the book and send it to him so that he could read it himself and see the pictures.
This is a book about a family facing hard times. There are lessons in this book not only about the rewards of hard work to reach a goal, but about the fruits of steady faith in God's care.
