In Search of Honor is historical fiction by Donnalynn Hess set in the late 1700s during the violent days of the French Revolution. This Christian fiction for teens tells of young Jacques Chenier who is trapped in a prison stronger than the Bastille, a prison of bitterness. Jacques wants revenge for his father, his mother, his fellow artisans, and for himself. But escaping from a prison of the heart is no easy task. In Search of Honor is the story of this young man’s struggle for justice and truth.

Great tool to teach students about world history along with a Biblical integration.I have read Donna Lynn Hess's A Father's Promise with my students for years now, and every class loves it! This book is different and a little more difficult material, but it is good as well. I like the fact that the students will study the French Revolution and learn about how other groups of people struggled (as well as Americans) when fighting for their independence. God is honored in the story and it is easy to integrate Biblical concepts.
