Morning Star of the Reformation by Andy Thomson is a fictionalized biography of John Wycliffe (1328–84) who pursued his vision of translating an English Bible for the common man. This historical fiction book is set in medieval England, beginning with Wycliffe’s student days at Oxford University and moving through the challenges that Bible translation presented over a hundred years before the Protestant Reformation. Wycliffe not only recognized the critical need for each man to read the Bible for himself but also he demonstrated the courage required to defend that right.
