As video games can increase hand-eye coordination, so word games can stretch your mind. To increase your thinking skills, check out http://dictionary.reference.com/fun/ for lots of games, from crossword puzzles to cryptograms to mazes and hangman. Much fun!

Another enjoyable word-related website is Wordle.net. Simply copy and paste any chunk of text into the provided box on http://www.wordle.net/, click “Go,” and watch as the words become beautiful art. Then you can print your favorites and decorate your room with them. Here’s an example, using the first two paragraphs of this article.  Wordle Example

A word game that can be played among friends is “Dictionary.” It is similar to the game “Balderdash,” except the players are trying to give the correct-sounding answer. You will need one dictionary, five to eight players, and one slip of paper and a pen per player. The moderator finds an unfamiliar word and reads it aloud. Each player then writes a logical-sounding definition on his/her slip of paper and hands it to the moderator. The moderator reads each definition aloud, including the correct definition, and the group votes on which one is right. The correct answer is then revealed, and the writer of definition who got the most votes gets to be the moderator and chooses the next word.
