Satellite Courses on BJ LINC 2008-2009 School Year
BJU's Institute of Biblical Education offers a variety of Bible courses designed to help believers experience "God's light for living." These inexpensive, personal enrichment studies are open to people of all ages. Two units are broadcast each semester.
First Semester Options: Thursdays, September 4 – November 20, 2008
Counseling Issues with Dr. Jim Berg
- Time: 7:00 - 7:55 p.m. (ET), Channel 1
- Description: Based on the conviction that the Bible is sufficient to meet every need of man, this course provides practical tips for helping people solve their problems God’s way. Topics include anxiety, stress, and depressions issues; principles of biblical communication; sleep disorders; working with a counselee’s medication and physician; and videotaped role-play case studies.

Grounded in the Faith: Studies in Bible Doctrines with Dr. Steve Hankins
- Time: 8:00 - 8:55 p.m. (ET), Channel 1
- Description: This course seeks to help the believer grow in his knowledge of God by explaining the major teachings of God’s Word. This unit focuses on God’s Word, and the lessons carefully expound the biblical support for each doctrine and highlight applications to the Christian life. Key terms are defined and unbiblical positions are refuted. Topics include systematic theology, inspiration, inerrancy, preservation, canonization, and interpretation.

Second Semester Options: Thursdays, January 15 - April 16, 2009
Christ’s Developing Kingdom:Old Testament Messages (Unit 1) with Dr. Ken Casillas
- Time: 7:00 - 7:55 p.m. (ET), Channel 1
- Description: This course provides a broad survey of the Old Testament, viewing it as a preparation for Christ and His Kingdom. The lessons emphasize the remarkable relevance of the Old Testament to the modern Christian. The focus of Unit 1 is on the Pentateuch.

Grounded in the Faith: Studies in Bible Doctrines with Dr. Steve Hankins
- Time: 8:00 - 8:55 p.m. (ET), Channel 1
- Description: This course emphasizes that the death of Christ is an essential element of the Gospel. For this reason, a thorough understanding of the death of Christ is important for the believer. Understanding the death of Christ requires a response. For some it yields the decision of faith; for others, it brings forth bitter contempt. Dr. Hankins clarifies the nature of true saving faith, and concludes this study with an explanation of what actually happens at the moment of salvation.

Participants will receive a workbook and be eligible for a certificate of completion. Pre-registration is handled through the office of the Institute of Biblical Education. Registration is also available on the first night of each unit. Rates are as follows:
- BJU Press Distance Learning satellite subscribers: $20 per course
- BJ LINC sites/centers, small groups (1-7): $30 per person for 1 course, $50 per person for 2 courses
- BJ LINC sites/centers, large groups (8+): $200 per group for 1 course, $300 per group for 2 courses
