BJ LINC Physics

BJ LINC Physics Course Description

The physics class presents in-depth investigations into linear motion, kinetic theory, temperature and thermodynamics, fluids, wave theory, sound, magnetism and electromagnetism, static and current electricity, basic electronics, and optics.  Circular and rotational motion, quantum theory, relativity, and nuclear physics are introduced.  The course is highly mathematical and analytical, but topics are also presented conceptually.  Students learn through observing demonstrations, performing laboratory activities, and doing self-directed applications.  The course will seek to foster an appreciation for the way God reveals much about His nature in the realm of physics.

Course Level: Grades 11–12

Prerequisites: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry.  Students who have not had both Algebra 2 and Geometry could take either class in conjunction with Physics.  Students should also be good math students.
