Physical Science is a study of matter and energy. The course is divided into two sections. The first, usually referred to as elementary chemistry, has to do with the structure and interactions of matter and covers chemical and nuclear energy. The second has to do with the other six forms of energy and is usually referred to as elementary physics. While many physical science courses also include astronomy and geology, these areas of science are not a part of the BJ LINC physical science course because they were covered in detail in the BJU Press curriculum on the eighth-grade level. Physical Science is a laboratory course that includes many hands-on experiments that will be done in the classroom by the students. Wherever possible, experiments will make use of locally available items. Required laboratory items will need to be ordered.

Meet the BJ LINC Physical Science Teacher

Miss Elizabeth Lacy, B.S., M.Ed., grew up in a Christian home; she accepted Christ as her Savior when she was almost four years old.  After graduating from home school, she attended Bob Jones University, where she received a B.S. degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry.  She then completed an M.Ed. in Secondary Education in 2007.  Miss Lacy served as the Biology assistant for one year and has taught Biology for three years at BJ LINC.  She acquired a love for science from her mom and a love for teaching from her dad. Miss Lacy enjoys reading, music, mountains, and the ocean.  Two of her favorite Bible passages are 1 Corinthians 15 and 1 Peter 1:3-9.
