Acquiring
signal when installing a new system (version 5:15 B11 only)
If you are currently trying to acquire signal with a receiver that has
version 5:15 B11 and a Smart Card installed, please refer to the Satellite
System Installation Guide pp. 12-18 for step-by-step instructions for
acquiring signal quality. Take special note of the order of the steps.
After following these
steps, if you can’t find a signal, follow the instructions under
resetting your receiver until you get to the Manual
Searching screen. (At this point, the signal quality will probably still
be at “00”.) Press OK. When
“Append?” appears, highlight NO
and press OK. Press MENU 3 times to clear out of all
menus. Press Signal on the remote and the Strength and Quality bars will
appear. Now follow again the steps on pp. 12 –18 of the Satellite
System Installation Guide and see if the signal comes in.
NOTE: Once you have
a strong signal, you will need to upgrade your version of software. To
do this, follow the instructions under upgrading to
current version. Once your software has been updated, your channels
should download automatically.
