Distance Learning Courses | K4–Grade 5
Science 2
Course Description
Science 2 (3rd edition) introduces God’s creation while encouraging the student to think and learn like a scientist. Throughout the year science process skills are incorporated into learning about various topics through hands-on activities and projects. Topics include living things and environments, fossils and dinosaurs, the earth and its resources, how the earth moves, light and shadows, how things move, forms of matter, and the systems of the body.
For Distance Learning students, Mrs. Overly uses pictures, video footage, and demonstrations to enhance learning. She encourages the students to participate by completing each activity themselves. Activities include growing healthy plants, making a model of the layers of the earth, and recycling newspapers to make paper.

Meet the Instructor
Mrs. Debra Overly, BS, MS
Mrs. Overly, a mother of three, has experience teaching several elementary grades. "I want to encourage each child to look forward to learning each day and also to provide sufficient practice and review activities to help alleviate mom’s workload. Most importantly, I want to present Christ in each subject that I teach. Each child should hear the gospel and then see in a very practical way how it can change a sinner."
