Course Description

Chemistry (3rd edition) presents revised and updated material from the second edition, describes relevant dominion science problems, offers a biblical response to ecological and earth-age issues, and includes recent chemistry-related research and developments, as well as a new chapter featuring modern materials.  Your student advances his analytical thinking skills through corresponding labs, demonstrations, and application problems.  He learns of opportunities to serve God through science in various career features.  The text teaches your student to view the world in general-and science in particular-through the corrective lens of Scripture.  All labs needed for the course are included on the Teacher’s Edition CD.

Meet the Instructor

Mr. Bill Harmon, BS

Mr. Bill Harmon, a course instructor for BJU Press Distance LearningBill Harmon has loved science for as long as he can remember. After completing his B.S. in Chemistry, he returned to Florida where he gained experience teaching a variety of subjects: science, math, Latin, and computer courses. Now he works as a chemist in the Safety Services Office at BJU, teaches BJ LINC Physics and Chemistry, and teaches Chemistry at Bob Jones Academy. He is currently pursuing an M.Ed. in Secondary Education. He and his wife Mary Ann have two children, Brian and Janette. His favorite Bible verse is II Timothy 3:14.
