What grades are offered for Distance Learning Online?
K4 through grade 12 are offered on Distance Learning Online.
Can I buy individual courses?
Individual courses are available for grades 6 through 12.
When can I begin ordering Distance Learning Online?
You can begin ordering on April 1, 2009, but you will not have access to the course until July 2009.
Can I switch to the online option if I have already ordered the DVD or Hard Drive option?
Yes. Please contact Customer Service at 1.800.845.5731. Administratives fees may apply.
Can we re-watch lessons if we need to?
Yes. You will be able to view each lesson in its entirety three (3) times.
Can I substitute courses within a grade level like I can with the DVD option?
Yes. You are allowed 2 substitutions per grade level (up or down). However, grades 1-6 cannot substitute courses from grades 7-12 and vice versa.
What are the differences between the Online option and the DVD or Hard Drive option?
The video content is the same for all three options. The Online option is the only option that includes online assessments (grades 9-12 only). The Online option is also the only option that includes the teacher support materials online.
Can my other children watch the lessons?
Yes. There is no per-child viewing fee, but only one student can take the online assessments and log progress.
Are all the textbooks included?
The Distance Learning Online option includes all the essential student materials. Printed Teacher's Editions are not included with the Distance Learning Online option, but abridged Teacher's Editions are available online in PDF format online for free.
Are the Teacher Support Materials printed or online?
The Teacher Support Materials are online and will be available to you once you log on to your Distance Learning Online account.
How long will I have to complete my Distance Learning Online program?
Course access for the 2009-2010 term will begin no later than July 31, 2009 and end on December 31, 2010.
Will I or my student be able to contact the instructor? If so, how do we do that?
You or your student will be able to contact an academic specialist with any questions you have about the course. Once you register for a course and log on to the BJU Press Distance Learning Online website, an e-mail link will be visible on each main course page.
