Exploring Themes in Literature

Growing Discerning Readers

Exploring Themes in Literature prepares students for reading and critical thinking at the high school level. This course explores texts from many different authors and genres to challenge students to understand the problems of the human condition. Students should learn to recognize where man’s solutions to problems diverge from biblical solutions. As they develop skills in analysis and evaluation, students will also develop discernment in how to choose literature and entertainment that is valuable both artistically and morally.
